To those of you who were able to join us last Thursday in NYC for the VIP Happy Hour, I wanted to extend a hearty thank you – we really enjoyed seeing so many of you there! We had about 120 attendees, ate some delicious chocolate fondue and enjoyed the beautiful courtyard space at the Hudson Hotel. We’re really looking forward to our next VIP Happy Hour – in London next February (more details on this soon…).

The VIP team will be meeting in mid-June (Friday, June 15 to Friday, June 22, inclusive) this year, as we continue to evolve the VIP program and the services we offer.
We will continue to provide code deploys during those dates but on a limited daily schedule. There will be no new theme and plugin reviews during this time, though we want to make sure we’re sensitive to your business needs. If you have a launch or major event planned during those dates, please contact us as soon as possible so arrangements can be discussed.
Attention NYC-based VIP customers: the New York Times, with assistance from WordPress.com VIP, will be hosting a monthly meet-up for major media companies in and around New York City who use WordPress.
The first event is scheduled for Thursday, April 26 from 7 to 9:30pm at The New York Times building. We’ll start at 7pm, but doors open at 6:15—come early and meet your peers. There will be socializing afterwards as well.
The program will feature a couple of announced speakers and presentations, plus time for “lightning talks”—an open microphone and projector for anyone to show and tell work they’re doing. If you’re interested in speaking, please get in touch.
The content will focus on the concerns and solutions unique to big media companies using WordPress. Things like: scalability, plug-ins and APIs, feeds, versioning and upgrades, downstream dependencies, media, measurement, edit tools and workflow, and on and on.
