New to VIP: Edit Flow, Ad Code Manager, Lazy Load

Looking to spruce up your website with new functionality? We’d like to highlight the plugins recently added to our shared plugins directory and now available to all VIPs.

Edit Flow

Edit Flow helps bring your editorial workflow into WordPress. Use the calendar, custom statuses, email notifications and more to reduce confusion in your production process and increase effectiveness. Check out the Edit Flow website for more details on each module. If you want to help us further the feature set, read the guide to contributing.

Ad Code Manager

Ad Code Manager is a brand new plugin whose goal is to make it possible to update your ad codes in the WordPress admin, without needing to deploy new code each time. At a code level, you define your ad tags in your theme templates and set up some standard configuration parameters. Once you’ve done so, you can add and edit the ad codes live on your site through a nifty admin interface. Currently, the plugin supports DFP ad codes.

Ad Code Manager is being developed by the WordPress.com VIP team and Rinat Khaziev, a Code Poet with Doejo. We’re looking for collaborators to add support for other ad code providers and more. Follow the development P2, fork the plugin on Github, and get in touch.

Taxonomy Images

Associate images from your media library to categories, tags and custom taxonomies.

Co-Authors Plus

Add support for multiple bylines to your site with Co-Authors Plus. This plugin allows multiple authors to be assigned to any post type via a search-as-you-type input box. Authors can be dragged and dropped to determine order. Editors and Administrators may assign co-authors to a post. Additionally, co-authors may edit the posts they are associated with, and co-authors who are contributors may only edit posts if they have not been published (as is usual).

Lazy Load

Save page load time and bandwidth by only loading images when they’re in the reader’s viewport. This plugin was written in a collaboration between the WordPress.com VIP team, the TechCrunch 2011 Redesign team, and Jake Goldman (10up LLC).

As a reminder, you can always view the list of available and activated plugins from the VIP Plugins Dashboard Menu or the Plugins page in the Lobby.
